The canyon walls within the Zion Narrows, show a myriad of colors and textures. In this section of the canyon the sandstone seems to be weeping with black ink.
Balanced stones are not natural in this setting, but they give a unique feel to the moving water of the river.
Stagnant waters create a beautiful sheen as fall leaves add a bit of color. Late in the fall as the waters of the Virgin River slow to a gentle flow, small colorful side pools reflect what little light enters the canyon.
